Metricon Display Home, Pelican Waters
Two 1900mm dia Zen bowls with pouring spillways are a feature of the lap pool in the Metricon display home at Pelican Waters, a new housing estate near Caloundra on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
The water-feature bowls, one at each end of the pool, are in Quatro Design's standard white. The bowls were custom-modified during manufacture to incorporate the 300mm wide spillways.
Sunshine coast pool company, Getaway Pools, installed the lap pool and the bowls.
Townsville Hospital
Quatro Design manufactured twenty-eight custom planters for the newly-completed wing at Townsville Hospital. The planters are located in two rooftop balcony areas that are designed as 'break-out' areas for hospital staff.
The GRC planters are 2 metres square with walls 800mm high, and they sit on 75mm high block feet cast into the planter floor. The textured wall surface was achieved using silicone form-liners supplied by Reckli.
In addition to the planters, Quatro Design manufactured in GRC the custom bench seats that complete the design. The seats ...

The garden is designed to have an uncluttered open feeling, but with the use of interesting...
St. Johns College, University of NSW
The merging of the old with the new is seen in this installation of Quatro trough planters at John's College, a residence for students within the Camperdown campus of the University of Sydney.
The planters line one side of the large quadrangle area, surrounded by three-storey buildings designed in the 14th century Gothic style. The charcoal colour of the planters blends with the large pavers on which they sit while contrasting with the sandstone building facades.
The 2.4 metre long troughs are from the Quatro modular series which starts with a cube...
100 Market St, Westfield Sydney Redevelopment
Quatro Design manufactured the sculptural art panels that frame the entrance to the commercial tower that is part of Westfield’s redevelopment of the Centrepoint Tower precinct in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
Brisbane-based Urban Art Projects (UAP) was contracted to supply the artwork for the project, and internationally renowned artist, Dani Marti, was commissioned to create the woven rope sculpture which became the pattern for the silicone moulds. Quatro Design then made the 2.2 x 1.5 metre panels in GRC.
The original intent was to make the panels in...
Macquarie Private Hospital, Sydney
The recently completed Macquarie Private Hospital in Ryde, Sydney, features a rooftop garden with GRC trough planters supplied by Quatro Design. Taylor Brammer Landscape Architects specified Quatro planters for the project, and installation was by Landscape Solutions.
The 1.2 metre and 1.8 metre planters were from Quatro’s 600 modular series. To achieve the bright orange and deep red colours, the planters were painted rather than having colour oxides added to the GRC during manufacture.
